Mr. Westwood describes thisas the elopement of Queen Guine-vere and Sir Lancelot, and furtheradds, that the knights are in chainarmour, with sleeveless surcoats, some having simple coif de mailles, whilst others wear the closed bas-sinet. Three of them have heater-shields, and it may be remarked thatthe knight standing on his saddlehas a pryck-spur on each heel. describes this piece as ofthe highest excellence and qualityof workmanship. The drapery overthe horses is very long and appa-rently very cumbersome. The treat-ment of the trees on the right sideof the carving is admirable. Round Plate
