Roentgen Examination: Shows that the fillings, although large, do not come veryclose to the pulps. There was tremendous swelling, but the Roentgen picture showsno radiolucent area, as would be expected with such large abscess formation. Operative Findings: The pulp, when opened into, was found to be highly incision on the labial side of the gum relieved about an ounce of pus. The apexof the tooth must have been very close to the surface, because the pus evidently causedno destruction of the bone, but pierced the bone and periosteum (which accounts forthe absence of pain), and accumulated under the gum.
