Greater kudu (Tragelaphus strepsiceros). This antelope lives in scrub and open forest in eastern and southern Africa, feeding on a wide variety of plants, including those rejected by other herbivores because of an unpleasant taste. Although it is a large animal, the kudu can easily jump heights of over metres. The species is endangered as males are popular amongst trophy hunters due to their large, spiralling horns.
