Wilting rhubarb leaves and punctures in the leaf stems are usually caused by a nearly cylindric, black, extremely ^^ hard shelled" beetle with more or less of a golden bloom on it. The grubs burrow in the stems and leaf stalks of dock as well as of rhubarb. Treatment: the beetles can be collected and destroyed by hand whenever injurious.
