A rear view of a Turkish stone built home with a terracotta tiled roof in Sidyma villageTurkey

Sydima in Turkey is rarely visited however the inhabitants are friendly and give a warm welcome to visitors. Within the area the lovely village of Dodurga has been built up using ancient remains mostly from Roman times; the village is full of remains such as tombs, sarcophagi and pillars; it is quite disconcerting to see a Roman artefact used as part of a wall on somebody's home; the whole area is a living museum.
