Washingtbri rnformation President Confers With Railway Employes On February 13, President Wilson, in a con-ference at the White House with B. M. Jewell,Timothy Shea, and E. J. Manion, made anaddress to these representatives of the railroadorganizations, in which he laid down a course ofaction which he intended to pursue with respectto the demands of the railway employes for ageneral increase in wages. The President, in hiscommunication to these representatives of therailway employes, pointed out that the wagequestion should be disposed of at the earliestpracticable time. He called attention to thefact that any contemplated strike of railwayemployes at this time would not only work ahardship upon themselves but disturb businessconditions generally.
