View of Tower Bridge on River Thames, London, taken from South Bank. Lovely Autumn light with good cloud formations.

View of Tower Bridge from South Bank of River Thames. This great feat of engineering is called a Bascule Suspension Bridge, as the lower, road level span is capable of hinging vertically from both ends to allow large vessels through. Opened in 1894, it has a span if 244 metres. The two towers are linked at the top by two walkways.
