A Japanese wakizashi, circa 1690 Blade shinogi-zukuri, torii-zori, chu-kissaki, gunome ko-notare hamon with jo and kinsuji. Jizo boshi with kaeri katai. Chirimen with hada o-itame in the tempered section. Plain sashikomi finish. Nakago with one mekugi-ana and o-sujikai yasurime, inscribed "Echigo No Kami Kanesada". Copper habaki with nekogaki. Mounted in shirasaya. Length k/m cm, total length 63 cm. Slightly rusty mokkogata iron tsuba with takabori decoration of boar and grass. Tsuka cord wrap over same, unassociated menuki.
