Frog In A Pool In The Durankulak Lake Nature Reserve In Bulgaria


this frog is in a pool formed after rain in the Durankulak nature reserve in Bulgaria. Durankulak lake is part of the shabla lakes complex about 7km from the border with Romania on the black sea coast. it is a ramsar site. this wetland shelters up to 80% of the global population of the red-breasted goose. here is the most important breeding site of the ferruginous duck aythya nyroca along the Bulgarian black sea coast. as well as wildlife it is an important archaeological site. sometimes referred to as the Bulgarian troy it contains the site of the temple of the earth mother goddess kibela
