Fan Aloe, Aloe plicatilis, Xanthorrhoeaceae (Aloaceae). Western Cape, South Africa. The Fan Aloe (Aloe plicatilis), is a species of aloe endemic to a few mountains in the Fynbos ecoregion, of the Western Cape in South Africa, confined to a tiny area between the town of Franschhoek and Elandskloof. In the local Afrikaans language, Aloe plicatilis is commonly known as the Kaapse Kokerboom (= 'Cape Quivertree'), or the Waaier Aalwyn (= 'Fan Aloe').
