The sun sets over Lago de Atitlan in Guatemala, and tourists and locals alike gather by the docks on the lakeshore taking in the beautiful view of Volcan San Pedro and Volcan Atitlan from Panajachel. Restaurants line the waterfront at one of the main docks in Panajachel, giving tourists a great sunset view over the lake. These docks are a tourist hub, where backpackers, locals, and visitors of all types come to take water taxis or public ferries to the other villages around the lake. Although less noticeable in Panajachel, Mayan Culture is still prevalent in most of the villages, in both their handicrafts, traditional wear, language and ways of life.
