Attic gravestone in Piraeus depicting an apoxyomenos (skin-scraper). See description for more information.

The inscription tells us this is the tombstone of Agetor, son of Apollodoros of Megara. Ca. 370-350 BC. The young athlete uses a strigil to scrape oil and dust from his skin in the gymnasium or palaestra. His cloak and oil flask (aryballos) hang beside him.
