3500 years old Egyptian sphynx in Diocletian/s Palace in Split Croatia
In the ancient palace of Roman emperor Diocletian there are several sphynxes made of Egyptian granite. They have been brought from Egypt more than 1700 years ago, at the time the Palace was built. One on the central square of the Palace, Peristyle is the best preserved. Its/ age is estimated to be 3500 to 3700 years, opinions differ
