Large, oval, tapering to the stalk, suture strong, one side swollen; surface deep red in the sun, bloom thin; stalk an inch long, slender, cavity narrow; flesh greenish, coarse, firm, sub-acid ; valuable only for cooking. Sea- son medium. Shoots smooth. Some sub-varieties are clingstones. Rivers' Favorite. Rather small, roundish-oval, with a shallow suture I nearly black with russet dots, bloom blue ; flesh greenish- yellow, juicy, excellent. Very early, immediatel)' succeeding Primordian, and better in quality. English. ^oyale. (Royal, La Royale.) Size medium, sometimes rather large,.
