Takahe, a native New Zealand bird.


Takahe is an endangered native bird species in New Zealand. They were thought to be extinct until the rediscovery in 1948. Since then their numbers of surviving in the wild fluctuated between 110 and 160 birds. They have wings despite being flightless.
