Yumbulakhang was built by the first king of Tibet, Nyatri Tsenpo in the second century However the majority of the fortress temple was destroyed in the Cultural Revolution, and the current reconstruction was built in 1982. The temple is situated in the Nedong country of Lhoka Prefecture.
