I have known her all my life ; she lived in the nexthouse to where I was born, in Nauvoo, and I used to visit ather house, with Alice Clawson, when I was engaged at theProphets theatre. She was always very kind to me, and Ihave had for her a real regard and sympathy, which in-creased after I became a member of her husbands is a very reticent woman, neither invites nor gives con-fidence, has few intimate friends, and visits but little.
