Stairs leading to the Eight Junction, Dongdaemun Design Plaza, Seoul, South Korea Officially inaugurated on March 21, 2014, the Dongdaemun Design Plaza has soon established itself as the centerpiece of South Korea's fashion hub and a popular tourist destination in Seoul. Also called the DDP, it was created by Iraqi British architect Zaha Hadid and Korean Studio Samoo with a neofuturistic design characterized by the "powerful, curving forms of elongated structures".
