From this we would infer that these houses must be of varying width?. The other houses are marked "propagating houses" and "two 5-foot ; These houses appear to have a width of twelve feet. The letter does not state the temperature to be maintained, but as 60 degrees is the usual amount of heat required, we estimate that in the house 30x60 feet, one 2-inch overhead flow pipe and sixteen 1-inch returns are required. If there are four benches in each house, it will necessitate four re- turn pipes under each bench. For the 12-foot houses we would use a l^^-inch flow pipe and six 1-inch returns. SIZE OF BOILEB TO USE. Please let me know what size of hot water boiler I shall require to heat four houses, one 40x150 feet, one 30x120 feet and two 12x100 feet. They are all sep- arate. Must it be low in the pit? What make do vou recommend? H. C.—Pa. The letter does not state what tem- peratures are to be maintained in the different houses or the average minimum winter temperatures.
