A Kubasaki High School Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps cadet models the uniform worn by the Marines who fought in the War of 1812 during a Marine Corps birthday uniform pageant Nov. 8 aboard Camp Foster, Okinawa, Japan. The Marines fought valiantly during the Battle of Bladenburg, fending off the British 4th and 85th regiments, who were considered to be the best troops in the world at the time. This battle firmly established the Marine Corps reputation as America’s premier fighting force. ( Marine Corps photo by Cpl. Daniel Jean-Paul / Released)
