. Florists' review [microform]. Floriculture. I S4S Boylaton St.* BOSTON Mombcr noristaT Telegraph Delivery Assodatioe BOSTON, MASS. HKNRY R. COMLIY. Florist, 6 Paric S& 50 years' exi>erience in the florist business tuarantees efficiency to take care of all orders. 20% allowed. display of Cattleya Harrisonise in his window. The overwhelming glut of cut flowers at this time, which chokes the whole- sale markets now, and which, with the European war and partial demoraliza- tion of business, may last for some time, is a serious matter for growers and salesmen alike. Increased produc- tion all along the line, accompanied by decreased buying, is responsible, but it has seemed to the writer, whose views coincide with those of many salesmen, that it would be a vast bene- fit to the growers and would in no wise injure the retailers if, on certain days and during certain hours, the general public were permitted to come in and clean up flowers which would otherwise be a dead waste. Growers have no cause for worry on Dutch bulb supplies. Local dealers have received advices that most of their orders are already sent. French bulbs are about all here, but arrivals of palms, azaleas, etc., from Belgium are likely to be practically nil. Dutch bulbs are now being offered for ship- ment from Holland at low prices, owing to the cancellation of orders from European countries at war. A large exhibit of products from children's gardens will be staged at Horticultural hall September 5 and 6. The Boston Cooperative Market's annual auction sale opens at 9:30 a. m., September 6, and promises to be the best ever. The market is being made spick-and-span for the occasion. The Boston Cut Flower Co. reports a good number of funeral orders, with little doing in other lines. A recent call at the convention gar- den found it in vastly better condi- tion than at the time of the convention. The general public is visiting it in large numbers. I think it would be a good plan for the local managem
