This reservoir site (see fig. 11) is on the North Fork of Prosser Creek, one of the main branches of Truckee River, about 4 miles, in a directline, a little east of south of Independence Lake, and at an approxi-mate altitude of 6,300 feet above sea level. The drainage area abovethe site is 12 square miles in extent, in character similar to and havingabout the same precipitation as the Independence Lake Basin. Nomeasurements of discharge of the North Fork of Prosser Creek haveever been made, though during a portion of the years 1889 and 1890the main stream was gaged immediately above its junction with. j Fig. 11.—Contour maps of Twin Valley reservoir site and dam site. However, since thereservoir planned for this location will have a capacity of but 7,818acre-feet, there can be no question about the water supply beingample to till it.
