A wildlife picture of an adult Swallowtail butterfly feeding on nectar from flowers. A Black Swallowtail butterfly wildlife photograph.

I created this wildlife photograph of a Black Swallowtail butterfly in central Florida during the middle part of August 2019. Many insects, such as Butterfly’s play an important role in nature by pollinating a large variety of plants and flowers. The black Swallowtail butterfly is commonly named a parsnip Swallowtail because it’s caterpillar feeds primarily on the Parsnip plant.
