Mayors of Salento protest at Montecitorio Square in front of Parliament for a peaceful protest against the Tap pipeline, the Trans Adriatic Pipelines the gas pipeline that, starting from Azerbaijan (the country where the gas is extracted) runs for a total length of 870 Km (including around one hundred Km under the Adriatic sea) bringing natural gas to Italy. Protestors in the Puglia region have demonstrated against the plan which includes plans to uproot century's old olive trees to make way for the pipeline.
