The Georgia Railroadruns frequent passenger-trains, all of which stop atDecatur, thus making it quite convenient for allthose living between Lithonia and Decatur, as wellas between Atlanta and Decatur, to attend the In-stitute. General Information^ The situation of Decatur, sheltered from the coldwinds of the more northerly section by the BlueRidge range of mountains, and yet at an altitudefar beyond the malarial lowlands of the South At-lantic and Gulf States, gives to the Institute manyof the pleasant and beneficial effects of a delightfulhealth resort. Persons residing in South Georgia,Florida, South Alabama, Mississippi and other GulfStates, will find here an atmosphere invigoratingand bracing, but 7iot severe; while others residentin more northerly sections will escape the severitiesof a rigorous winter climate without encounteringmalarial or enervating influences. The town has excellent telegraphic, telephonic,postal and express facilities. Presbyterian, Methodist and Baptist churcheshave regular services and resident pastors.
