London, UK. 15th July, 2014. Some 70 FireFighters from across London called to tackle a fire in a waste transfer station on Scarab Close, Canning Town East London. Crews from as far away as Tooting were called to the scene to deal with the blaze which involved several hundred tonnes of waste materials. Thick smoke billowed from the blaze which resulted in LFB warning local residents to keep doors and windows closed. It is not yet known if the closure of close by Silvertown fire station exasperated the blaze as crews had to travel from further afield to the incident. Credit: HOT SHOTS/Alamy Li
