Itwas, however, during the following years carriedinto effect, and the present inartistic building wasraised in the place of the pretty old parish churchwhich formerly stood on its site. While the work of destruction and building werein progress, services appear to have been held in;Mr. John Balls malthouse, which was rented by thechurchwardens for the purpose.
