, Bellapais, Kyrenia, Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus - A Dutch tourist in the restaurant at the Bellapais Abbey ruins. Augustinian monks, who had to flee from Jerusalem, established die abbey in the 13th century during the reign of the French kings. The name Bellapais is a short form of Abbaye de la Paix (Abbey of the Peace). The ruin, a few kilometers from Kyrenia, is a well-known tourist feature of the island and lies in the Pentadaktylos Mountains (byname Five Finger Mountains).
