In designing this farm-house, we have had two objects inview; first, to offer to the large class of intelligent farmers aplan of a house of moderate size, somewhat adapted in internalaccommodation to their peculiar wants : and second, to give tothe exterior, at little additional cost, some architectural first object, it is evident, must ever be the principal one ina farmers dwelling, and therefore everything should yield tosuch an interior arrangement as will give the greatest amountof comfort, and the maximum of convenience, in performing in-door labor. But beyond this, there is no reason why the dwell-ing-houses of our respectable farmers should not display someevidences of taste, as well as those of professional men, or per-sons in more affluent circumstances.
