SUCCESSFUL SHOP MANAGEMENT. 75 and their sons, and their sons sons, possible, so that now the fourthgeneration of the family is in control of the great business which hasgrown up from the small beginnings in the little iron-Avorks at thefalls of Mumford river at the place commonly called in its fierce and uncompromising disapproval of Medford rumand all allied beverages which makes it impossible to alleviate a nine-teenth-century normal thirst in Whitinsville of to-day by open pur-chase, the Whitin character is marked by a spirit of broad tolerationin all directions,—a full and generous interpretation of the rights ofothers, no matter how dependent their position, or how feeble theirpowers for the maintenance of those rights.
