Thomas “” Holland recognize Kathy Spory with a certificate of appreciation Nov. 6, 2018, at Fort Carson, Colorado. An operating room nurse at Evans Army Community Hospital, Spory’s attention to detail prevented what would have otherwise been a sentinel event and potential liability when she discovered a patient had provided consent for a wrong procedure. Her response, patient research and thorough preoperative interview discovered the erroneous consent.
