Business is both good and bad; on Saturdays it is good, on other days for the most part poor. Saturday, October 10, had June beat for brides; practically every florist had a wedding decoration, some two of them. Some fine decora- tions were made with autumn foliage, mums, smilax, etc. On Saturday, Octo- ber 17, everyone was busy with funeral work. Some excellent mums are coming in, with fine foliage, large flowers and good color. Polly Rose, Glory of Pacific, Chrysolora, Early Snow, Pacific Supreme and Monrovia are among the best ones. Carnations and roses are improving. Some fine orchids are seen. Violets are rather poor and scarce. The first rain of any account since August 30 fell October 16 and 17. Various Notes.
