A German sword blade, 1st half of the 19th century High-quality Damascus blade, the lower third of lenticular cross-section, both upper thirds with flattened central ridge. The lower third etched, gilt and inscribed (tr.) "loyalty and honour" and (tr.) "for the fatherland". The ricasso with manufacturer's inscription "Gebr. Weyersberg" and "In Solingen", the tapering tang with king's head mark. The blade somewhat shortened and slightly stained.
