Lance Cpl. Kanta C. Covey, a Kadena, Okinawa native and mortarman assigned to Bravo Company, 1st Battalion, 3rd Marine Regiment, jumps into a river during the endurance course, aboard Camp Gonsalves, Okinawa, Japan, July 7, Jungle Warfare Training Center provides individual and unit level training to increase survivability and lethality while operating in a jungle environment. The Hawaii-based battalion is forward deployed to Okinawa, Japan as part of the Unit Deployment Program.
