Inaddition to these there is an abundance ofthe purest, softest freestone water to befound anywhere. The famous Bogg Springsare five miles west and are reached fromthis point. Fine hardwood and pine timber suitablefor furniture, wagon timbers, pine lumber,hardwood flooring or cooperage stock isvery abundant. The soils in the vicinity aresplendidly adapted to peach, berry and com-mercial truck A SPLENDID COUNTRY FOR SHEEP. 42 THE OZARK REGION Sevier County, Arkansas Sevier is the most southerly of the Ozarkcounties along the Kansas City SouthernRailway. It borders on Oklahoma for 17miles and its south boundary is about 20miles north of Red River and the TexasState line. It lies in the southern foothillsof the Ozark Plateau and its general slopeis south and southeast. The north one-thirdis part of the plateau, but from Gillhamstation southward the altitude decreasesrapidly and from the southern boundary ofthe county an unbroken plain slopes gentlyto the Gulf of Mexico. Protected by woodedhills for many miles in every direction, ex-cept southward, the county has little to fearfrom either drouth, late frosts or county is well watered and well its east boundary is Saline River and onthe south boundary Little River.
