Pelvic arteries. Historical illustration of the arteries and organs of a male pelvis. The arteries are coloured red and supply oxygenated blood. In the three diagrams, the right common iliac artery enters from far right. It then divides into an internal (lower) and an external (upper) branch. The external iliac continues to the leg. The internal iliac supplies blood to the surrounding tissue. The bottom diagram shows the arterial supply of the penis and the bladder (below and to the right of the penis) which has been pulled out of the groin.
