Tropical toad in leaf litter. This is Bufo castaneoticus, a species of toad in the Bufonidae family. Toads are adapted to drier habitats than frogs, but like frogs, use their sticky tongues to catch flies and other insects. This toad is found in Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, and Peru. Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical moist lowland forests and intermittent freshwater marshes. Photographed in South America.
