A lion's head sabre of Damascus steel for cavalry guard officers Slightly curved single-edged blade of Damascus steel with fuller on both sides and pandour point, on both sides gilt etching of trophies (partially over-polished). Gilt bar hilt richly decorated in relief, with black leather covered grip and triple wire wrap, guard star at the obverse langet. In corroded sheet steel scabbard (dents, cracks) with two movable suspension rings. Signs of use and age.
