Cave Painting Vasquez Rocks Shoshone and Tataviam Natives

Vasquez Rocks Natural Area Park is in the Sierra Pelona Mountains in northern Los Angeles County, California, and is known for its rock formations resulting from sedimentary layering and earthquakes. Vasques Rocks is located between Santa Clarita and Palmdale, near Agua Dulce, and is visible from the Antelope Valley Freeway. It has been used as a location for films and television programs like Star Trek, The A-Team, Bill and Ted’s Bogus Journey, Army of Darkness, and many more. The rock formations were formed by rapid erosion and quakes from the San Andreas Fault. It was Tataviam tribal land.
