Pomeranzengarten in Leonberg. The gardens were commissioned by Duchess Sibylla of Württemberg

This is the Pomeranzengarten (Bitter Orange Garden) in Leonberg. The gardens were commissioned by Duchess Sibylla of Württemberg, widow of Duke Frederick I, in the style of the Italian Renaissance. As in the Renaissance period the garden is planted with both aromatic and medicinal plants as well as flowers. The eponymous oranges were grown in pots, which stood in the center axis of the garden in the summer.
