The Alton Floral Co., Joseph Krug and Miss Dietschey, Alton, 111., who buy supplies in St. Louis, say they are experiencing a busy season in plants and flowers. The publicity committee, May 2, do- nated, in the name of the St. Louis florists, several large boxes of cut flow- ers, to be sold at the Caruso concert for the benefit of the orphan children of Italy. The flowers were contributed by the St. Louis Wholesale Cut Flower Co., the W. C. Smith Wholesale Floral Co., H. G. Berning and the Windier Whole- sale Floral Co. J. J. B. WATEEBUBY, CONN. Business is holding up well in this section. We had the best Easter ever. The interest of the people has been aroused through the use of stereopticon views showing the benefits to be derived from the use of a few plants and seeds and describing their properties. The F. T. D. business showed a large increase over previous Easters in both incoming and outgoing orders. Eyan & Powers have added a new de- livery car to their service. NEWAEK, N. J. The Market. Cloudy weather has held flowers back somewhat during the last week, but there has been a sufficient supply for the after-Easter trade. Prices continue high, though not so high as they were during the Easter trade. The sale of seeds is increasing, as is the trade in hardy rose bushes and stock for spring bedding. Various Notes. A patent has been issued to Fred J. Mead for a greenhouse bench. Philips Bros, report considerable wed- ding work since Easter. The Easter trade was the best they ever had, prac- tically all of their large stock being cleaned out. Ed Schuerman, formerly with Philips Bros., is at Atlantic City on his wedding trip. He married Miss M. Finter, of this city. E. B. M. Scranton,
