Whittlesey, UK. 21st Feb, 2023. Forterra's King's Dyke brickworks, on the outskirts of Whittlesey (Whittlesea), near Peterborough in Cambridgeshire. The brickworks now has all four kilns working, with smoke oozing out of the 3 chimneys (one chimney serves 2 kilns), and the company will be producing more than 3 million bricks per week. Formerly owned by the London Brick Company, the brickyard originally made around 1 1/4 million bricks per week, but that increase to more than 3 million bricks per week means that the company will be very busy.
