Of it he says: "This fine large species emerges from dead beech timber in June; the holes are perfectly round and some of them one-half inch in diameter. ]Many come from a single tree, yet it is very difficult to get speci- mens. '' L. pleheja Rand., length 13 mm., is a member of the Alleghanian fauna, recorded from ^Michigan. 1949 (6304). Leptiba subhamata Rand., Bost. Joum. Nat Hist, II, 1S3S. 44. Eloncrate. rather slender. Male, head and thorax black; base of legs and discal olytial stripe (often in- terrupted) yellow.
