The Sierra de Armantes is located in the Iberian System of Zaragoza, between the fertile plains of the Manubles, Ribota and Jalón rivers. It is dotted with numerous ravines and hills, dominated by gypsum in its lower areas and by clays and loams in its higher areas, which give it a curious contrast between reddish and white tones and which some call the Cañon del Colorado Zaragozano. Many of these curious formations are called castles because of their similar shape like the one in the photo.
