Gunnison River crossing within the Dominguez-Escalante Conservation Area, near Delta, Coloradoad
A river crossing over the Gunnison River in ranch country of the Dominguez-Escalante Conservation Area near Delta, Colorado. This was part of the area explored by the 1776 Dominguez-Escalante expedition as they searched for an overland route from Santa Fe to Monterey, in what is now California. They were unable to complete the trek and returned to Santa Fe after traveling over much of the Colorado Plateau in New Mexico, Colorado and Utah.
