A close up of a Bougainvillea flower (Bougainvillea Glabra) in my garden in Ringwood, Victoria, Australia. The purple "petals" are modified leaves.

Bougainvillea is an exotic South American creeper, which has beautiful purple flowers. Strangely the purple parts are actually modified leaves, and the flowers are the tiny white blooms in the middle.
