John Waters Drew was born in Washington, D. C, May 3, at Columbia College, that city-Enlisted in Company F, First Virginia infantry. C S A , .\pril. 1S61: promotedcaptain of the Twenty-third Virginia cavalry in 1862: engaged in the battles ofManassas, Seven Pines, Coal Harbor, Seven Days fight around Richmond and throughthe entire campaigns in the valley of Virginia during 1863-64. Was captured at the battle of Winchester September ig. 1864, and released July. 1865-Since the war he has been successfully engaged in the drug S. A. CUNNINGHAM, DURING THE SIXTIES.
