Stephensen, Conspectus 1913, p. 180, and Meddel. 0111 Gronl., vol. 53, 1916, p. 292) (not from 1-;. Green- land), and from a couple of localities at the Faroes (K. Stephensen, in Zool. of the Faroes, no. 23 (Amphip.), 1929, p. 8). It prefers rather shallow water, rarely deeper than abt. 20 111., among algae, but may sometimes (especially the £) be found pelagically in large shoals near the shore. Remarks on the nomenclature etc. Amphithoe Iceviuscula was established by Kroyer [838, based upon specimens from Fiskeusesset in W. Greenland (abt. (>.; X.), length ' ., danish inch - 13 mm. Shortly afterwards Zaddach (1M44) established Amphithoe rathkei, found "in man baltico pi ope Gedanum" (Lake Geserich, near Danzig), length "paene 3 lineas". 6 mm.
