Hospitalman Donald L. Thomas inserts a nasopharyrngeal airway tube into a patient during a deployment for training exercise at Fort. Pickett, Va., Dec. 7, 2016. The Navy Corpsmen support Marines by conducting medical training such as the Combat Life Savers Course while also providing medical aid to Marines when needed. The airway tube will allow the patient to breath if he cannot do so himself. Thomas is a hospitalman assigned to 3rd Battalion, 8th Marine Regiment, 2nd Marine Division.
