Pieces of inverted sod are anexcellent medium for starling and growing early Cucumber plants, as they can be readily lifted from the hot-bed tothe garden without disturbing the young plants growing upon them. For main crop, plant in hills four feet apart, inthe end of May. Keep the young plants safe from the striped bug by dusting with dry plaster or powdered helle-bore.
